Winthrop, MN — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Guidecraft Inc. have voluntarily recalled 4-in-1 Dramatic Play Theater Toys for entrapment hazards posed to young children. The CPSC announced the nationwide product recall on March 13, 2012.
The recall was issued after discovering that the toys can unexpectedly tip over during play, which poses an entrapment hazard to children.
One child reportedly sustained minor contusions and abrasions as a result of the toy tipping over.
“This recall involves all 4-in-1 dramatic play theaters with model number G51062. The model number is printed on a sticker affixed to the bottom of the center crossbar and on the assembly instructions. The toy has two interchangeable panels with different themes on each side: a puppet theater and diner, or a doctor's office and post office. An assembled play theater measures 4-feet high by 3-feet wide and weighs about 46 pounds,” reported the CPSC.
Consumers are advised to contact Guidecraft for a refund or replacement product.
